Artist Statement

I create luminous watercolor, pastel, and white-line woodcut portraits that celebrate the unique beauty of the remarkable flora and fauna that surround us. Drawing on a diverse background in fine art painting, graphic design, printmaking, and illustration, I explore how each living thing exists within its habitat and the larger natural world. So much of what we encounter is fleeting, and my work seeks to capture these moments before they fade from view. The ephemeral nature of watercolor mirrors both my artistic process and my subjects—delicate, fragile, and all the more beautiful because of their transience.
